Today was a good day
Aug. 19th, 2004 06:44 amI got lots done today, unfortunately no work. I drove
swestrup to the 211 bus in Pointe-Claire, so he could go downtown. Then I did some grocery shopping. The grocery shopping turned out to be fun, because I engaged two older ladies (one at Loblaw's, the other at Mourelato's) in conversation and made them smile.
I made some phone calls and received a couple of calls. w00t, a confirmation of some work and some probable work. I phoned Fido and asked about their new unlimited incoming calls plan. w00t, only $5 more than my current 200 anytime minutes/month plan. This has 100 daytime minutes, 1,000 evening and weekday minutes, and all incoming calls free. Doing a happy dance.
I made arrangements with my friend, Margaret to borrow her rake. The guys that mow the lawns at my condo association have just done so. They have riding mowers that mulch the grass. I'm going to rake some of it up to use in my teeny, tiny garden. My teeny, tiny garden is growing spectacularly. All the rain we have been having is wonderful for the garden. I've only had to water it once since planting.
I had a nice nap and read some of email. I've just joined Ryze business networking and a few of their networks and there was a whole bunch of interesting stuff to read. If anyone is interested in joining, let me know. I found out about it from
nancyrihakova. I had supper and then Margaret called to say she was home from kayaking.
I went to Margaret's to pick up the rake. My new exercise program is to take a brisk walk for at least 30 minutes at least five times a week. Margaret and I went for a walk in her neighbourhood for about an hour. She took me on a route that specifically went past interesting houses. It's a nice change from my neighbourhood, which is getting a bit boring. Just as we arrived at her house,
swestrup phoned that he was ready to come home. So, I got directions for the shortcut to the Côte de Liesse Expressway from Margaret and headed into town.
swestrup and I headed home and gave
_sps_ a lift home on the way.
g'night all, I'm off to bed.
