My desktop computer is ill. It won't let [ profile] swestrup run the Windows repair. So, I will be hauling it off to Microbytes for diagnosis and probably repair. Thank goodness [ profile] swestrup copied everything on the hard disk to a different hard disk and backed that up on the server.

I would drive off to Microbytes right away, but I am having one of my visual migraines (no headache) and don't like the idea of driving when I can't see straight o_0

This is driving me buggy. I can't get any work done until I have that computer working again.

I woke up at about 10h00. It took until ~13h30 for my eyes to wake up (stop feeling like they were full of stuff). Then I got one of my visual migraines. Unfortunately it is the one with drop shadows, not the one with the pretty colours that go away within half an hour. Could hardly see to read. I took some AC&C. After almost two hours, I could see again, but it hadn't taken care of the headache. I was fragile for the rest of the day.

But, while looking for that post with the drop shadows, I found one that said I had paid my car registration, late, in April. After a whole bunch of hunting, I found the receipt. It was for driver's license renewal. That's why I thought my car registration had been taken care of. That $438 fine is due next week. :(

I had, I believe, a migraine last night. That makes three different kinds of migraines that I get. None of them have the head splitting headaches, thank goodness. This one is vertigo and nausea followed by vomiting. Oh, and a headache. I have only had this kind once before. It lasted a few hours, and then I could go to sleep. I'm not feeling so hot now and I have just taken some AC&C for the headache.

[ profile] swestrup brought me a bucket, because I simply wasn't going to make it up the stairs to the washroom.

I am really bummed out, because I was going to go to a housewarming party today and at the moment I don't feel well enough to go. I was really looking forward to that party.

If I feel better later, I might go to the party for a short while.

I have a bad headache on the right left side of my face and head. It's mostly behind my eyeball and around it. It's the eye that isn't getting the drops for glaucoma (yet). I wonder if it's relevant.

I went to the ophthalmologist today, well, yesterday at this point. I'm not sure what to make of her. I showed her a printout that gives an idea of what I see, when my vision goes weird.
I explained that I see any one of those, depending on how severe the episode is. The last one is what I usually see.

She gave me the eye chart exam. She had me look through a thing with a bunch of tiny holes. She put eye drops. She did a bunch of tests. She put those awful drops that dilate your pupils. She looked in my eyes with some very bright lights shining in my eye.

She said I need glasses. She said it was an eye problem, not a neurological problem, because I could see more clearly through the thing with the tiny holes (pin hole camera effect). She also told me I have glaucoma. Yikes. She gave me a prescription for eye drops. I am only supposed to use them in my right eye. I have an appointment to come back on 31 July so they can see if these drops work on me.

I really don't understand about the glasses fixing the problem. Sure, I need glasses, but the problem varies enough that I'll need four or five different prescriptions.

She said that the skin below my eyes was puffy. That might be age or it might be thyroid. So, I will be having my thyroid levels tested as well as getting tested for diabetes, which could also affect my eyes.

One of the possible side effects of the eye drops is that my eyelashes might get darker, thicker, and longer. She said most women don't mind that one.
