I've been removing the vinyl tiles from the floor in the washroom. It's tough going but I'm making progress. Several months ago, the toilet was leaking. Some of the tiles started to bulge and sounded squishy when stepped on, so I tore them off. I checked the plywood under the tiles and luckily, it was undamaged. But, now some of the tiles were off. They had been put on with the really strong, black tile glue that the professional flooring guys use. Those suckers are on really tight. I've been taking them off with a pry bar. They break in pieces ranging from 1/2 cm to 3-4 cm. I'm over half way now. I do a little bit every time I go to the washroom.

When I get them all off, I plan to sand the floor and paint it. I might try stencilling a bit of pattern onto it. Then when it's done, I'll put Varathane. Anyone know a better way of doing this?
