Yahoo rant

I got an invitation to join a Yahoo fan group today. SpamCop put it in my held mail folder, because it had a large enough spam score. I have no idea who the person is that sent it. I checked for the email addy on Google and it brought up pages for the person that this group is a a fan group for. Bush.

So, at the bottom of the email it says, ...It is a violation of our service rules for members to abuse this invitation feature. If you feel this has happened, please notify us. You may also change your email preferences to stop receiving group invitations in the future... That stupid link gets me to a help page that says nothing about how to report this. I've checked all over Yahoo and there is no indication of how to contact them. There are, after going through the TOS, pages that eventually get me to "connection denied".

While I was checking this out, I got distracted and checked their Yellow Pages. I'm not in them! Bush, Bush, Bush. They only list businesses in the U.S. and Canada. Well, I'm in Canada. There is a page for adding your business. But, you click either "Bell South", or if your phone service isn't provided by Bell South, infoUSA. Well, stupid infoUSA has a form to fill in that only works if you live in the U.S.

I think I hate Yahoo.

Forward it to abuse@yahoo.com, explain that you never requested to be part of this, and that you are in fact very opposed to whatever they are doing, bla bla bhla blabalbalablablaba (etc) and be happy.

Thank you. I thought someone might have an actual email addy. The person who sent the invitation harvested my email from LJ. I can tell, 'cause it's a Sneakemail addy.

I found this, but I suspect you have as well.

Have you tried plain ol' abuse@yahoo.com?

That's one of the links that gives me "connection refused". But, thanks anyways.

I know Mouse found many good reasons to block anything from Yahoo from his e-mail. I don't remember the story, but I'm sure he'd be glad to share it.

Mouse and I are getting together sometime next week. I'll ask him then, if I remember.
