Sunday night we had our annual Yule (Winter Solstice) party. It's nice to share food with and to spend time with friends. A fair amount of wine was also shared ;) I think my friends had a good time. I know I did.

Many thanks to my friends:
[livejournal.com profile] _sps_, who herded [livejournal.com profile] denizsarikaya and [livejournal.com profile] somecanuckchick all the way to our house in the boondocks.
[livejournal.com profile] denizsarikaya, who brought wine and nummy homemade cranberry sauce; scrubbed potatos; helped with other food prep; and kept me company in the kitchen.
[livejournal.com profile] nancyrihakova, also known as [livejournal.com profile] somecanuckchick, who helped with intermediate clean up; helped with hors d'œuvres; and gave me outrageous compliments - blush.
[livejournal.com profile] zadcat, who brought two bottles of wine and made wonderful gravy in spite of my attempts to help.
[livejournal.com profile] swestrup, my sweet hubby, who worked himself to exhaustion preparing for the party and kept our guests entertained.
Janet, who brought me a wonderful present: The Visual Food Encyclopedia
We all missed the company of [livejournal.com profile] azhrey, who was home in bed with a horrible migraine.

But today I am wasted. No hangover, but I'm pooped. I ache in a number of places. I woke up with three digits on my right hand tingling. It took about twenty minutes before it went away. It started up again when I used my mouse, so I switched the mouse over to left-handed use. Aiming wasn't wonderful, but the buttons were completely wrong. My body doesn't consider the mouse buttons to be "left" and "right". It considers them to be "index-finger" and "middle-finger". Then I found out that it wasn't just using the mouse that made my fingers tingle, it was doing anything with my right hand. It's gone now, phew.

I've been reading LJ, but I just don't have enough energy to post any comments. I've succeeded in several loads of dishes. Thank goodness for the washemupatron. We haven't really done anything else in terms of cleaning up after the party, but the house is still cleaner than it was Saturday. I'll be writing up and posting recipes used for the party in a day or two.

So, you'll just have to buy yourself one. They are far too handy/useful not to have. We have a portable one that hooks up to the sink like a portable washing machine. We got a small one because it's just the two of us. But I don't recomment that. Pots and pans don't fit terribly well.

I am so not domestic. But for a woman wearing that shirt... of course I was gonna help out (even a little) in the kitchen. *wink* :)

Didn't mean to imply that you were overly domestic. You did a great job for the undomestic goddess.

I think I better get some photos of me in that top. It was rather, uhm, interesting.

We wish you could have been there too. You and [livejournal.com profile] americanstd are just going to have to move back here or come up for Yule some time soon.
