I got the same spam three times - to three different email addies I've used for a mailing list. They must have been harvested from their online archive. Lots of other people on the list got the same spam. It was from Heal Africa and says I won $800,000 (yeah, right) and to phone some international number. What's the odds that number charges something autrocious to the phone bill of anyone who calls?
And yesterday I got a message from James@yyyy.com (yyyy.com being a representation of my domain name). Well, there isn't really such an email addy. It was sent to Linda@yyyy.com. It said that their were naughty pictures in the zipped attachement. The zipped attachment was the W32/Mimail.c@MM. Big surprise that the attachment was a virus.
I got notified by my ISP that I had received a virus. I got notified, to the James addy, that I had sent a virus. What a bunch of ninnies at the ISP. Can't they tell a forged header? Why did they let the damned thing through? I sent them email asking about this yesterday, but haven't heard from them.
Today I got more notices about this, but this time the message from the ISP said, "Delivery of the email was stopped!" Well, they only stopped one, because one went through my ISP to Spamcop, which stopped it and sent me a notice. So, the virus was also sent to my spamcop email address. And the other one, that they stopped, had been sent to my email addy at my ISP. All the virus emails had the forged header, from James@yyyy.com.
Anyone else get this crap?
