We finally went on our leaf watching trip yesterday. For those who don't have [livejournal.com profile] swestrup on their friends list, he wrote about it in a post in his journal.

To get from the north side of the St. Lawrence river and Autoroute 40 to the south side of the river and Autoroute 20, the TransCanada Highway, we had to take highway 55. Now, usually when the speed limit is 100 km/hr, it is because you are on a limited access highway - a freeway, or what we call an autoroute, here in Québec. So, since the speed limit was 100 km/hr, I thought I was on a limited access highway. It looked like a limited access highway. I was very startled to see a sign indicating an intersection. A small country road crosses the highway. Yikes. Then, there was another one, with a flashing light - the kind that hangs over the road and flashes amber in one direction and red in the other. Now I'm doing Google searches to see what's up with this.
