Power back, phew
Jan. 8th, 2004 10:18 pmAt ~19h00, our power went out. When it's as cold as it is now (-23C), that's always scary. Not only is all of our heat electric, one worries that the power outage will last a long time, not just a few hours.
I phoned Hydro Québec and the automated system told me that it was caused by equipment failure and they expected the power back at 20h30. At 20h30, we called again and the power was expected to be back at 21h30. At 21h15, the prediction was 22h30. Luckily the power came back on at ~21h40. According to the news on the radio, there was a fire a few blocks away. Hydro was not keeping the radio station up to date.
