Time Out

shreddy was being a monster to sucha. The noise was incredible (Cat fight noises can be impressive). Both swestrup and I ran to the living room to see what was going on. It wasn't even the first time today. We tagteam spritzed him. A little while later, he was at it again. We herded him into the basement. He is now having a time-out in the laundry room. He has a water bowl and a litter box. He isn't coming out 'til morning. I can hear him mewing now. Grrrrr

Power back, phew

At ~19h00, our power went out. When it's as cold as it is now (-23C), that's always scary. Not only is all of our heat electric, one worries that the power outage will last a long time, not just a few hours.

I phoned Hydro Québec and the automated system told me that it was caused by equipment failure and they expected the power back at 20h30. At 20h30, we called again and the power was expected to be back at 21h30. At 21h15, the prediction was 22h30. Luckily the power came back on at ~21h40. According to the news on the radio, there was a fire a few blocks away. Hydro was not keeping the radio station up to date.
