Aug. 5th, 2003 09:04 amEarly in July my scanner crashed. It crashed so badly, that the next time I tried to scan something, my computer said I didn't have a scanner. So, I uninstalled and reinstalled the scanner software. No luck. I went to the Plustek site and read the support info. I tried editing my system.ini file as per instructions - no luck. Left me wondering if the scanner was dead. I have had it for donkey's years and it was a cheapy when I bought it.
Yesterday
swestrup and I finally got around to installing it on his computer. It works fine. I guess it is time to reinstall Windog. I hate having to do that. I got some stuff I gotta do first, so that will probably happen this weekend or early next week. At least there is a working scanner in the house, even if it is two floors up from my office.
Since I will be reformatting the harddisk anyways, this is a chance to swap my 8 gig harddisk for the 20 gig harddrive
swestrup was going to put in the server. I will probably also upgrade memory while the machine is open. So, there is a silver lining to this cloud.
