Yesterday grocery shopping had become a must. I went to Health Tree, a local health food store which is my default grocery store. Caught up on milk, cheese, eggs, butter, ground beef, coffee, etc., but they didn't have any peppers or radishes. They were out of potatos too, but I didn't need those. I tried going on Thursday, but there wasn't a single parking space.

After that, I picked up a bottle of Cabernet-sauvignon Santa Rita Dona Paula, a rosé, at the SAQ Express and continued to Costco. I checked the lines as I entered, and they weren't too bad. Picked up a few things there, including the one pound bag of organic baby greens, mayo ('cause all the organic mayo I've found has sugar or honey in it, ick, ick, ick), and a bbq chicken. By the time I got to the checkout, the lines were humongous. Oh well, it was 20h by the time I got everything stowed in the car. I left home at 18h.

Supper was easy. I nuked the chicken, made some Thousand Island dressing for the salad of baby greens, and heated some Grainfields 7 grain buns (yummy whole grain goodness). Happy tummy. [livejournal.com profile] swestrup and I had happy tummies, even though it was breakfast for him. He didn't have any of the wine. I'll have to taste that wine again, it was an experiment. First impression was that it wasn't as good as my favourite pink wine, Casal Mendes or Cabellero de Chile Sauvignon Blanc (or their red, but I wanted a wine I could chill, considering the weather).

Wow, I was hoping to make it sound a bit interesting. I was basically just doing the grocery shopping and being lazy about supper ;) I didn't have to cook the chicken, just reheat it. I didn't have to make the salad, just pull the washed leaves out of a bag. The salad dressing is really quick and easy to make - I'll post the recipe. We seldom drink beer, we prefer wine. Haven't had much recently :( You're porkchops sound at least as glamourous to me. I didn't have the get-up-and-go to do that much cooking.
