I need a candy thermometer. I tried to make fudge without one. I completely missed the "soft ball" stage and thought I hadn't gotten there yet. The result is some fairly hard goop. I looked it up in How to Repair Food, but I don't have any corn syrup. I did add a bit of milk, which seems to have helped a bit. I now have something sweet and chocolatish that looks like a poop on a plate.
