Costco shopping rant
Sep. 13th, 2007 08:08 pmHave you noticed that they always put the number of cashiers that will make you wait behind at least four customers? If the lines get shorter than that, they start to close cash registers.
But, this is even more annoying: they seem to think that when they pack up your stuff, you have to have some stuff that doesn't get put into a box or a bag. I bring my own bags, because I got tired of always having a few items left outside the box. That, of course, makes it more effort to get the groceries from the car to the house. But, now, they just put stuff in my bags and don't give me a box unless I bitch about the fact that they have still left stuff that hasn't been "packed". Today, I brought a very large shopping bag and a large shopping bag and a medium shopping bag. Once again, stuff was left out. After bitching about it, I was given a box. When I was going to put the stuff in the box, I looked in the bags and discovered that everything except the box of wine, would easily fit into the bags I brought. Is this some sort of weird Costco policy? Or do they just hire people to pack your stuff that act stupid? Do they really think I want to carry three bags of groceries and then, separately, one box of wine, a jug of Cascade, and two baguettes? I only come equipped with the same two hands that most people have and this is obvious from looking at me.
