Sep. 15th, 2005 03:25 pmMost people don't much like being on hold on the phone, but it's a fact of life when calling big companies. I have a speaker phone, so I can do other stuff while I'm on hold. But, I get very annoyed when I've been on hold for six and a half minutes and then it just cuts me off. grrr.
I'm so busy I haven't even had time to look at LJ yet. I had a new client come over this morning. I consulted with an old client for half an hour by phone. I printed a tax return for a client and still have to assemble it. I'll be delivering that tonight in town. I have stuff to buy at Costco. I have to get an international driver's license. I have to pick up a current copy of my car insurance. Once I know for sure when I am flying and coming back, I have to make a reservation for a hotel in Boston so I have somewhere to leave the car. And lots more. The list is finite, but it seems to go on and on.

Driver's license not lost
Sep. 15th, 2005 07:42 pmThat was a bit of a panic. I went to the CAA in Pointe-Claire to get an international driver's license. I got out my wallet to give her my Québec driver's license and it wasn't there. Oops. I figured I had forgotten to put it back in my wallet when I phoned my insurance company (I had to find the policy number) - it's in the same plastic folder as my driver's license. I got home and it wasn't on my desk. Yikes.
I phoned Calories, because I had taken my wallet out there last night. I phoned Zellers. No luck. Panic was setting in. How long would it take to get a replacement? Even if it's the same day, I don't have time to waste at the SAAQ tomorrow. Did I dare drive down to Boston without a driver's license in my possession? Then I checked the wallet some more. Then I checked my purse some more. Phew, it was in a "safe" compartment in my purse. I wonder why I put it there. I never put my driver's license there. So, I'll just have to go back to the CAA tomorrow or Saturday to get that international driver's license.
