Yesterday, we brought the kitties,
sucha and
shreddy, to the vet. They seem to be in pretty good health.
shreddy has gained some weight and
sucha has lost some, so now
shreddy really is twice as big as
sucha. Shreddy seemed to like the vet. He only panicked when I put him in the cat carrier and in the car. Sucha was her usual "feisty" self. I put her in a pillow case, because she goes completely bonkers/panicky if I try to put her in the cat carrier. She's fairly calm in the pillow case.
Sucha is 13 years old, so she had a blood test for her "senior profile". I should have results in a few days. Then I have the fun of catching her again and bringing her back for her vaccinations. The vet wanted the results before vaccinating her. Shreddy has tartar and gingivitis. The estimate is about $350. That assumes he won't need any teeth pulled.
Well, at least we saved some money on the flea prevention. The vet didn't think that indoor cats really need it. She also said that if cats get fleas nowadays, they get Program (a flea contraceptive) and an "adulticide". That there is no longer any need to treat the house. I was having my indoor cats given the Program because I have once had a house infested with fleas and I don't ever want to deal with that again.
