Networking and summary of yuck weather
Mar. 8th, 2005 02:12 amThere is a business networking group here on the West Island. I have been wanting to go for a while. So, tomorrow (Tuesday), I was all set to go to the breakfast get together. I sure hope the weather isn't too yuck. I am not driving in the same kind of slippery yuck we had today (Monday), but it sure looks like it will be yuck in the morning. - I'm still awake, so it is still Monday for me, even though it's past midnight.
For those who are not here in Montréal, the yuck we had Monday was:
For some reason, it was exceedingly slippery, even when it was just snow. The snow plows were out and working hard, but it was still a mess when I drove to the Roxboro train station to pick up
swestrup. I left the house at 18h20 and it took twice as long as usual to get there. Good thing I allocated more time. The train was a few minutes late, probably due to the weather.
I can't find a place on the The Weather Network's website that lists how much snow or rain we actually got. But the snow map shows Montréal in the 20-50cm range (8-20 inches), yikes!
For those who are not here in Montréal, the yuck we had Monday was:
- temperatures between -10C and -13C
- windchill factors of -13C to -24C
- heavy snow (with occasional light snow) from 10h00 to 18h00
- starting at 18h, freezing rain alternating with ice pellets! and it didn't get warmer
- 02h: still have freezing drizzle
For some reason, it was exceedingly slippery, even when it was just snow. The snow plows were out and working hard, but it was still a mess when I drove to the Roxboro train station to pick up
